...but sometimes the mind doesn't follow suit.
Regardless, this week has been one that has left me asking "It's Sunday, already?" As we get older, the time starts to tick away, faster and faster with every coming day. Most of the time I don't notice the things that happen, or else they blur into some strange memory that resembles a bastard form of deja-vu, that wait around for introspection, as if they are orphaned soldiers with no war to fight and no commander to keep them on their toes.
Concept:
Moss
Here is a character I've worked on for a while, and even had to build a maquette for about two years ago, to figure out how the joint kinematics would even be possible. The addition of an additional joint for articulation brought up questions of what kind of joint should it be: ball or hinge? Anatomically, I had to decide that there were no major muscle groups and structure available to make them ball joints, so logic won that battle. The story of Moss is pretty simple, he is a water-based alien that lives in an abandoned rock quarry with his mate. Late one night, some of the locals get drunk and go fishing in the quarry and kill his mate out of fear. Moss goes on a revenge fueled killing spree. End of story...
Concept:
Sweetness
Sweetness is a guillotine. Plain and simple. I've drawn this machine many times, and was asked to airbrush it from a "criminals point of view, as the last thing they ever saw." There's nothing exceptional about it, other than the name "Sweetness" and the executioner's hash marks he etches into the uprights for kill counts.
Well, that's all for this week. Next week I'm going to be picking up with "Desolation" and divying out the parts to voice talent, as well as working in fly throughs for "Trophy Case" and "Apartment of The Unknown" and hopefully working in the poster re-touch, re-lighting of "The Kingdom of Noise."
